Thanks Letter for attending the workshop titled “Building Telecentre Family in Bangladesh : A Workshop for the Social Entrepreneurs and Practitioners”

We would like to thank you for your kind participation at our workshop held at the Auditorium of RDRS, Rangpur , Bangladesh on August 27– August 29, 2006 . This workshop was partially supported by Telecentre.org and UNDP Bangladesh and three organizations have shared other costs.

We believe that the workshop could clarify many aspects of telecentre movement and the importance of access to information for poverty alleviation.

Selection Criteria

The national event has created enormous enthusiasm among different stakeholders in Bangladesh. The selection committee had to go through a rigorous selection criteria. The selection committee already have selected 70 participants for the upcoming workshop. Out of 70 participants The selection committee has selected 34 participant for full scholarship. The following criteria have been applied for selecting participant & scholarship.

Criteria of Participant Selection 

  1. Priority of one representative from one Organization ( No duplicacy from same organization).
  2. Priority to Government organizations.
  3. Priority of Participants from grass root level organization.

Criteria of Scholarship Selection 

  1. Participants registered from out side of Dhaka city.
  2. Priority of Participants from Government organization.
  3. Priority to national NGOs.
  4. Priority of Female applicant.

RDRS, RANGPUR ON 27-29 AUGUST, 2006. 

We are pleased to announce that the selection committee has selected 34 participants for full scholarship for the upcoming workshop on “ BUILDING TELECENTRE FAMILY: A WOKSHOP FOR ENTREPRENUERS & PRACTITIONERS” to be held at RDRS, Rangpur on 27-28 August, 2006.

Please also note that, this scholarship will be provided based on your successful participation in all the sessions.

Confirmation of PARTICIPATION IN WORKSHOP TITLED “BUILDING TELECENTRE FAMILY: A WORKSHOP FOR ENTREPRENUERS & PRACTITIONERS” RDRS, RANGPUR ON 27-29 AUGUST, 2006.

We are pleased to announce that the selection committee has selected 27 participants for participating in the upcoming workshop on “ BUILDING TELECENTRE FAMILY: A WORKSHOP FOR ENTREPRENUERS & PRACTITIONERS” to be held at RDRS, Rangpur on 27-28 August, 2006.

We believe that your participation will ensure the success of this workshop and pave the way for the future telecentre stakeholders in Bangladesh . You are requested to pay the registration fee (TK.2500) on or before 12 August. Please send the attached form (Registration fee submission form) with cheque to workshop Secretariat through courier or postal service. However, as mentioned earlier, transport, accommodation and fooding will be taken care of by D.Net.

Workshop Committee will provide following Sponsorship 

Please note that the sponsorship offers:  

•  Workshop Secretariat will cover your travel

  • Participants will reach the workshop venue from the place of departure on their own cost & responsibility.
  • Cost of up – down trip (Bus or Train) on most economical and direct route to RDRS, Rangpur from place of departure.
  • Workshop Secretariat will reimburse the actual cost of travel. One way cost will be doubled for return ticket. Tickets will have to be submitted along with the reimbursement form (to be distributed in the workshop folder) for this reimbursement.
  • Local Conveyance (Lump sum TK. 200) will be provided for the expense from RDRS to accommodation venue.

•  Workshop Secretariat will bear the accommodation charges

  • Accommodation charges will be provided for 26 th August night -29 th August morning.
  • Participants will have to bear the accommodation room charges if they fail to check in & out on the dates for 26 th August night -29 th August morning.

•  The organizers will arrange food for the participants as follows—

  • August 26: Dinner
  • August 27: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • August 28: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • August 29: Breakfast and Lunch

The sponsorship will not cover :  

  • Cost of spouse and / or children travelling together.
  • Accommodation / transportation arrangements other than those provided by workshop Secretariat.
  • Additional stay at Rangpur

Obligations for Participants 

  • You are requested to participate in and contribute to the abovementioned event and its related activities.
  • Recipient will refrain from engaging in political, commercial and/or any other activities incompatible with the objectives of workshop.
 

Call for participation in the workshop titled “Building Telecentre Family in Bangladesh:
A Workshop for the Social Entrepreneurs and Practitioners” RDRS, Rangpur, Bangladesh, August 27-29, 2006

Dear all,

We are pleased to inform you that Development Research Network (D.Net) in association with Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) and Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) is going to organize a workshop titled “Building Telecentre Family in Bangladesh: A Workshop for the Social Entrepreneurs and Practitioners” to be held on August 27-29, 2006 at the Auditorium of RDRS, Rangpur, Bangladesh. This workshop will be sponsored by Telecentre.org, Global Knowledge Partnership(GKP) and UNDP Bangladesh. A telecentre is a common access point for the people to get livelihood information and communication facilities through ICTs (like computer, internet, mobile phone, internet radio, community radio etc.

This national workshop will convene more than 50 representatives from the grassroots, civil society, private sector, international organizations, and government along with foreign expertise with ICT4D to discuss, share and learn about how to improve access to information for improving livelihood through ICT and thus reduce poverty of Bangladesh.

We cordially invite you or to nominate a representative from your organisation to participate in the workshop. As the interest for this workshop is heightened a dead line of July 31, 2006 has been fixed for confirmation of participation. We will highly appreciate if you kindly confirm your participation and help us avoiding problem of selection at the last moments. We are also pleased to announce that there will be twenty (20) scholarships for participation the grass-root organizations, which essentially is the waiver of the registration fees. Travel, accommodation and fooding will be taken care of by the organisers. We will send you a final confirmation letter after receiving your filled in registration form.

Your participation will ensure the success of this workshop and pave the way for the future telecentre activists in Bangladesh.
